Our new store on Saddler Street, Durham
Our retail outlet has been established for well over 30 years with an enviable reputation for quality, not only in our products, but in our service too. As you can see from our staff profiles below, our employment record speaks for itself and thus their product knowledge is second to none!
The outlet itself is based in Durham city centre within the beautiful, historical Indoor Market, where we are located towards the back left-hand side. We have a whole wall dedicated to our men's handmade, English brands and a stylish area for our ladies' ranges.
Recently the shop went under a major refurbishment and through which we have gained a lot more floor space and consequently we have now moved into 'Country Clothing'. We hope you will come and enjoy the experience!

We have also opened a second retail outlet at 33 Saddler Street in Durham so please feel free to bring any website queries to either shop or indeed order any products to come into the shops for your perusal if this is easier and perhaps more local for you!
Meet the Team
Richard Anderson
Richard is The Managing Director of Andersons Of Durham and Head of the family business. Richard set up the Durham outfitters in 1980 and the business has remained in the family ever since. The website was set up 3 years ago to work hand in hand with the store and has worked out to be the perfect partnership. Richard is the main buyer for the men's footwear as his passion for quality is second to none, always wanting to offer his customers the best in service! He's very hands on and will often be found in our store discussing his his latest shooting and fishing exploits with the customers.
June Anderson
June is also The Managing Director and the king pin in our family! June has worked side by side with Richard setting up the business. June has a keen eye for the ladies buying and has a vast experience on the Men's welted footwear, what June doesn't know isn't worth knowing! She is excellent in customer service and can generally be found in our outlet on Saturday. June, like Dick is also a very keen golfer so if she's nowhere to be found you know she'll be on a green somewhere!
Sarah Anderson
Sarah has grown up within this footwear environment and went to spread her wings within other footwear companies gaining experience and skills to be able to bring back to the family fold. We're happy to say Sarah returned to us over a year ago now and is happily running the buying with both her parents. She is also well skilled in IT and so manages the e-commerce side of things but can generally be found in the shop on Saturdays with June.
Robert Lowery (Bob!)
Bob, as our customer's will know him, has been with the family company for well over 20 years and is like a part of the family. Bob manages the Head Office in Hutton Henry looking after our web site orders and stock control. He pride's himself on fabulous customer service and our customers love him for his warm Northern attitude and great accent!
Karen Dunn
Karen is one of our longest serving members of staff in our outlet at Durham and has been with us for over 20 years! Karen's true expertise lies in the men's English made, hand crafted brands such as Cheaneys, Barkers & Trickers. If you need any help or advice on this type of footwear or indeed anything in the shop Karon will be only too helpful to guide you in the right direction.
Christine Morgan
Or Chris as we call her again has been with us for over 10 years and is based in our outlet in Durham. Chris comes into her own when looking after our more mature clientèle as she has an excellent knowledge of our wider fitting brands. Not only will you walk out with the perfect pair of fitted shoes but you'll have probably told Chris your life story and no doubt end up related somewhere along the line!
Helen McGuire
Helen, again has known our business for a lot of years and is a very happy, friendly member of staff who can look after your every shoe need! She is our Merchandising Guru with a real skill for for displays. Helen is based in our outlet in Durham and always has a smile for our customers.
Thomas Cox
Tom is a new member of our team and has settled in very nicely! He is just starting to learn the ropes but is picking everything up at lightning speed and has an easy, happy manner. Tom can be found helping out at the head office as well as in the retail outlet.
